"How to Pack When Moving Across the World...According to Gina Wagner"

Moving to another country can be stressful. I will share some tips which I am discovering that make the moving process seem a little easier. You’re welcome.
Disclaimer: I am not a professional mover, and I actually have no idea what I’m talking about.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1.
Organizing your bedroom before packing is for wimps.  You’ll soon be faced with many challenges.  Why wait for those challenges to begin once you move? Toughen up, and let them start with the packing process.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

2. Your worried mom and grandma will be concerned that you will be unable to find food when you move…and that you’ll starve to death.  Ease their anxieties by packing your favorite travel friendly foods that they bought for you (thanks mom and grandma).

Preferably, choose ones that leave an unpleasant aftermath on your breath to ward off suspicious strangers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3.   Choose the rolling method when packing your clothing.  It tricks your mind into thinking that you will save space in your suitcases, making you less nervous about potentially leaving excess clothing out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

4.   Your checked luggage WILL be overweight.  The sooner  you accept this fact, the easier it will be to fork over X amount of dollars in the airport.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5.
If you use these vacuum bags, make sure that buying an iron is your first order of business once you arrive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

6.

Leave your white pumps behind.  They’ll get dirty in the city, and they will leave room for other essential items in your suitcase, such as this:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
7.   Wear a neck pillow backwards in the airport. People will think you have a broken neck, and everyone will let you cut in all of the lines.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

      8.  Pack pictures of your friends to cheer you up if you get sad.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
9. Practice running really fast, because you probably forgot to take self-defense classes.  When you are in a situation where you must fight or flight, you are going to have to flight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

10.  Finally, packing takes full focus; do not get distracted by Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc.

      Hello everyone, and welcome to my blog!  As many of you know, in just a short few days I will be flying out of the Wagner nest and into the real world.  I will be teaching English in Moscow for the upcoming school year.  If you are ever interested in knowing about my experiences abroad, I am inviting you to creep on this blog to find out! And if you’re not interested, don’t worry…I promise not to pollute your Facebook newsfeed with my every move.
I will miss my friends and family terribly, and this is an easy way for me to let all of them know what is going on in my world! So, to my friends and family: I am going to try to update this blog once a week… check back regularly! You can leave comments and questions below! If I skip a week or two, do not fret, because I probably just got too busy for an update.  However, if two MONTHS go by and you have not heard from me on here, call the American Embassy, and come to save me… I may be in trouble.  (That last sentence may seem a little OVERdramatic, but I just want to be safe.
   Thank you for being an audience member to my very first blog post ever! Check back in about a week for an update on my travels!

-Gina
