When I pay attention in Moscow, I notice...

...this perfectly perched pigeon on Lenin's head.

....the businessman unfolding the centerfold of his most classy magazine on a crowded metro.

....it's raining, I don't have an umbrella.

....the middle-aged man reading "Fifty Shades of Grey" in Russian.

....how I wonder what is the meaning of this straight out of my metro station on a Sunday afternoon:

...the ridiculous amount of pregnant ladies in the summer.

...the truck that is flipped completely on its side along the highway.

...another truck with its hood on fire.

....an out of control unattended dumpster on fire.

...that I can identify the shop where a large percentage of ladies have purchased articles of clothing.

...I've spent too much time in Moscow malls.

...the stranger in the metro who held the door for me as I was at least 10 feet away from it...must not be from around here.

...these white pollen fluff things floating around in June.

 ...that's not snow.

...using my best Russian, I accidentally ordered myself two glasses of wine.

...waiting on a plane for it to take off for Warsaw...an announcement was made in Russian telling passengers that we will leave in 25 minutes. This was directly followed by an announcement made in English, informing us that we will leave in 15 minutes. Both were wrong....we left in 40.

...a foot.

...see it?

...using my best Russian another time...I accidentally ordered myself a liter of wine.

...going to sleep before 10 pm in the summer is difficult.

...the half naked woman running and yelling on the side of the highway at 8:20 am.

...all of the things in the grocery store that I cannot identify.

....and the things that I CAN identify.

...how one thing here is not like the others.

....the dead man in the middle of the sidewalk.

...that I can see a fireworks display from my balcony at least 4 nights a week.

...that putting my one foot in this photo does not make it artistic.
I'm not a photographer.

Patriarch's Pond

...how beautiful Christ the Savior Cathedral looks at 10 pm.

I could really just go on and on.
